PLX TECHNOLOGY TO PRESENT AT EUROPEAN, U.S. TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCES
Worldwide Interconnect Leader Will Address PCI Express Multicast, Gen 3 at PCI-SIG Developers Conference Europe,

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- March 2, 2009 -- PLX Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLXT), the leading global supplier of PCI Express® (PCIe®) switch and bridge silicon, today announced it will be presenting at two key upcoming industry conferences. PLX® senior technical experts will deliver PCIe-focused presentations at this month's PCI-SIG Developers Conference Europe 2009 (DevCon) in Frankfurt, Germany, then at the MicroTCA Summit in Chantilly, Va., in May.
Derek Percival, field applications engineer with PLX Europe, will present "Multicast over PCI Express" at DevCon, which delves into the rapidly emerging Multicast feature of PCIe, and how it significantly enhances system throughput by reducing data congestion. Multicast boosts the efficiency of a PCIe-based system by enabling a single packet to be sent to multiple destinations, making it ideal for applications such as communications backplanes, mirroring in storage systems, multi-graphics computing, and high-resolution imaging.

Ash Aziz, senior applications engineer at PLX, will update attendees of the ATCA Summit through his presentation, "PCI Express as a Backplane Technology," which includes a preview of the next generation of PCIe interconnect technology, PCI Express 3.0 (Gen 3) and how system architects can anticipate migrating their designs to it. PCIe Gen 3 represents yet another step forward in enhancing the usefulness of the PCIe standard, doubling the effective bandwidth and adding protocol enhancements to dramatically improve end-system performance.
