Michael Salameh co-founded PLX and has served as President and member of the
Board of Directors since PLX's inception in May 1986. From 1980 through 1986, Mr. Salameh was
employed in various marketing management positions with Hewlett-Packard Company. Mr. Salameh
received a B.S. in Engineering and Applied Science from Yale University and an M.B.A. from
Harvard Business School.
Lawrence Chisvin was appointed Chief Operating Officer in August 2004,
having served as Vice President, Marketing since May 2000. From September 1998 through May 2000,
Mr. Chisvin was employed by Neomagic, a semiconductor company, as Director of Marketing.
From May 1996 through September 1998, Mr. Chisvin was employed by LSI Logic, a semiconductor company,
as Director of Marketing. Prior to LSI Logic, Mr. Chisvin was employed in a variety of marketing and
engineering positions at S3, Phillips, Western Digital, and Digital Equipment Corporation. Mr. Chisvin
received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University and an M.S. in Electrical
Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Art Whipple joined PLX Technology as Chief Financial Officer in January
of 2007. Prior to PLX, he was VP of finance, CFO and secretary at Silicon Storage Technology, Inc. He was
previously with QuickLogic Corp., where he served initially as its VP of finance, CFO and secretary, then
as VP and GM of its logic products business unit. Prior to QuickLogic, he was VP of engineering for ILC
Technology, and also as vice president of finance and operations of its subsidiary, Precision Lamp. Earlier
in his career, Whipple served in financial and engineering roles at other semiconductor manufacturing
companies, including Westinghouse Electric, Fairchild Semiconductor, and Monolithic Memories. He holds
a bachelor's of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington, and a master's
degree in business administration from Santa Clara University.
Hector Berardi has served as Vice President, Operations since August 2002.
From April 1999 to July 2002, Mr. Berardi served as the Vice President of Operations at Ubicom, Inc.,
a developer of wireless network processors and software platforms. From June 1998 to April 1999,
Mr. Berardi was a design and program manager for the advanced RISC core development group at ST
Microelectronics, a semiconductor company. From July 1987 to May 1998, Mr. Berardi worked at
National Semiconductor Corporation, a semiconductor company, where his last position was senior
product engineering manager for microcontroller technologies. Mr. Berardi received an M.B.A. and
a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University.
George Apostol served as our Vice President, Engineering since May 2005 before moving to the CTO role in January 2008.
From April 2004 through April 2005, he was Vice President of Engineering at Audience, Inc. From
February 2000 through March 2004, he was Vice President of Engineering at BRECIS Communications.
From 1996 through 2000, Mr. Apostol held senior engineering and management positions at start-ups
TiVo and RedCreek Communications, and Cabletron. Prior to then, he was employed in a variety of
engineering and management positions at Xerox, Sun Microsystems, Silicon Graphics, and LSI Logic.
With a strong background on designing systems on silicon, he holds several patents in the areas of
system bus interface and buffer management design and has written multiple ASIC design productivity
tools. Mr. Apostol performed his academic research at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and MIT Sloan
School of Management and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
David Raun joined PLX Technology in November 2004 as Vice President, Marketing. In May 2007 his role
was expanded to include VP of Business Development. From January 2002 through November 2004, he was Vice President
of Marketing at Pericom Semiconductor. In 2001, Mr. Raun was Executive Vice President & General Manager at Actovate.
Prior to Actovate he held several executive positions at Waferscale Integration, Inc., including Vice President of PSD & Memory
Products ('97-'00), Vice President of Sales ('96-'97), and Director of Sales ('94-'96). From 1985 to 1995,
Mr. Raun held other sales, sales management, and marketing positions at Waferscale and AMD. He holds a
B.S.E.E. degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Badar Baqai started as PLX’s new VP of Engineering in January 2008 replacing George
Apostol who is now CTO. Badar is an industry veteran with over 25 years of success in a wide variety of
engineering disciplines. He was most recently at LSI Logic, where he served as VP of Engineering for their
IP Products and Solutions, and before that he was the founding CEO of Cautella. Baqai has also held executive
positions Silicon Image and Fujitsu Microelectronics. He has direct and extensive experience with the entire
engineering pipeline, including complex SoC development in deep submicron technology, digital and analog
development, and system level design He holds a master’s of science in Electrical Engineering Technology
from the University of California Los Angeles.
Matt Ready joined the executive staff of PLX Technology in November of 2005 as
Vice President of Sales. Previously, Mr. Ready has held numerous sales and executive sales management
positions at a number of Silicon Valley based manufacturers. During the 80's he held various sales and
sales management roles at VLSI Technology, while in the 90's was VP of Sales at OPTi as they became the
early leader in core logic chip sets and audio IC's. From 2000-2004 he was VP of Sales at Genesis Microchip
where he grew sales from 50m to over 200m+ while positioning them as the leader in LCD display IC's.
Prior to joining PLX Technology Mr. Ready was VP of Sales for a Bluetooth IC start up called Zeevo that
was acquired by Broadcom in the first half of 2005. Mr. Ready holds a Bachelors of Science degree in
Business Administration from San Jose State University.
Ken Murray joined PLX Technology as Vice President of Human Resources in September 2006. Prior to
PLX, Mr. Murray was Vice President of Human Resources for Genesis Microchip from 2000 to 2006. In the 15 years before
joining Genesis, Mr. Murray was Vice President of Human Resources at Chordiant Software, NeoMagic Corporation and Akashic
Memories (formerly Domain Technology). Mr. Murray also spent 9 years in various Human Resources management and individual
contributor roles at Memorex Corporation. Mr. Murray holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from San Jose
State University and is a member of the College of Business Advisory Group.
